As a child, I learned to cross stitch from my mom. These patterns typically consisted of teddy bears and fancy, pastel flowers. I loved the repetition. Hated the patterns. I gave it up after high school.
After my sister was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2015, I returned to my cross stitching roots. It was completely accidental.
A colleague from work introduced me to Subversive Cross Stitch. I ordered the “Fuck Cancer” kit, stitched it up, and gave it to my sister.
I was hooked. Then I started creating cross stitched gifts for family members & friends. I created most of my own patterns. No software — just graph paper and colored pencils.
For my 39th birthday, I purchased an official pattern maker software.
Again, I was hooked.
I opened my Etsy Shop in late October 2016 and by mid November 2016, I was selling patterns.
The rest is history.
